Igor Bobylev

Igor Bobylev is an altoist in the Radio Philharmonic Orchestra. He was born in 1958 in Kiev, Ukraine. From 1976 to 1982 he studied with Juri Jurov at the Gnessin Institute in Moscow. Here he obtained diplomas in soloist, chamber music and pedagogy. Igor played in the Moscow Philharmonic Orchestra from 1980 to 1990. The last five years of this period he was second soloist.

The following five years he was a member of the Moscow Virtuosi conducted by Vladimir Spivakov. He also played in various Dutch and German orchestras. At festivals he was chamber music partner of Shlomo Mintz, Sarah Chang, Christian Bor and Quirine Viersen.

In 1995 Igor joined the broadcasting orchestras. He was principal soloist in the Radio Chamber Philharmonic and now holds this position with the Radio Philharmonic Orchestra. He also has a violin-viola duo and plays in Trio Immanuel, the Indigo Quartet, Camerata Amsterdam and the international chamber orchestra New European Strings.
