The fascinating story behind a controversial musical genius. This is told by Tijl Beckand in the new documentary series Tijl in the footsteps of Richard Wagner.

The Radio Philharmonic Orchestra and principal conductor Karina Canellakis made special contributions for each episode. Tijl spoke with them to learn more about the secrets of this controversial musical genius. Tijl starts his journey through Europe in Paris and goes from Zurich to Venice, among other places, and also gets to Bayreuth, Germany. He visits the places where Wagner lived and worked.
