Desirée van Vliet

Desirée van Vliet is double bassoonist and bassoonist of the Radio Philharmonic Orchestra. She was born in 1967 in Alphen aan den Rijn. Here she took her first bassoon lessons with Hein van Dijk at the Streekmuziekschool.

Desirée then studied bassoon at the Utrecht Conservatory with John Mostard. In 1993 she graduated as Performing Musician. During her studies she took double bassoon lessons with Hans Wisse, later also with Guus Dral and Frans Buurman. Since 1993 she has been a member of the Radio Philharmonic Orchestra. In her free time, she enjoys running and sailing.
