Wanted: Musicians (anyone who sings or plays an instrument) to come and play with the Radio Philharmonic. The Radio Philharmonic Orchestra invites music lovers to become part of the orchestra during two unique musical activities: Classical Karaoke and The Rehearsal.

The Radio Philharmonic Orchestra invites music lovers to two special events with an interactive character: the Classical Karaoke and The Rehearsal. During the Classical Karaoke (on October 20, 2024 and April 13, 2025) and The Rehearsal (on November 20), the MCO offers visitors a unique opportunity to become part of the Radio Philharmonic Orchestra.

Classical Karaoke - October 20, 2024 & April 13, 2025, 3:30 p.m.
During Classical Karaoke, Music Café Elling on Heuvellaan will be transformed into a cozy karaoke cafe on two Sunday afternoons this season (Oct. 20 and April 13) where visitors can play chamber music together with the musicians of the Radio Philharmonic Orchestra or just listen with a drink. Visitors will have the chance to perform classical pieces together with musicians from the orchestra or make requests for works they have always wanted to hear live. Admission and participation are free.

The Rehearsal - 20 November 2024, 10:00 a.m.
During The Rehearsal, the Radio Philharmonic Orchestra invites as many musicians as fit into the studio to rehearse and perform Edward Elgar's iconic Enigma Variations under the direction of NPO Klassiek presenter and conductor Leonard Evers. Playing parts are made easier if desired, and there may be more musicians per group than Elgar imagined because the rule here is: The more people who participate, the better!

Leonard Evers rehearses the tricky passages before the coffee break and also explains things about the Enigma Variations. After the break, the mega-orchestra performs the entire piece as a concert.
