On Wednesday, Nov. 25, '20 - in the week of Benjamin Goodson's festive inaugural concert as principal conductor of the Groot Omroepkoor - the Groot Omroepkoor received the Hilversum municipal pin from the hands of Mayor Pieter Broertjes. Soprano Jolanda Sengers accepted the award on behalf of the Groot Omroepkoor. The municipal pin is awarded in special cases as a token of gratitude to residents or organizations that have made themselves greatly deserving for Hilversum.

"The Groot Omroepkoor is special and unique. Namely, it is the only Dutch professional choir for the large symphonic repertoire. It is also still closely associated with the Dutch Public Broadcasting Corporation. We are proud of our professional Hilversum choir. I find it special and beautiful that on behalf of the college I may award the Groot Omroepkoor with the municipal pin," said Mayor Broertjes.
