Tobias Kehrer

Tobias Kehrer was born in Dessau. He started his musical education with private singing lessons and studied at the Universität der Künste in Berlin with Professor Siegfried Lorenz, leaving the Hochschule with the diploma in February 2011.

Starting in the 2012/2013 season at the Deutsche Oper Berlin as a regular company member, Tobias Kehrer will have completed immediately before the one year's scholarship "Franz-Josef-Weisweiler" awarded by the Förder-kreis of the Deutsche Oper Berlin (roles among others Osmin/DieEntführung aus dem Serail, Daland/Derfliegende Holländer, Commendatore/DonGiovanni, Sarastro/DieZauberflöte, Jacobus von Arc/ Jeanne d'Arc, SteffanoColonna/Rienzi, Basilio/Ilbarbiere di Siviglia, Colline/La Bohème, Sparafucile/Rigoletto, Orest/ Elektra; Fafner/ Das Rheingold under Sir Simon Rattle (2013/2014) and Fafner and Hunding/Ring-Cycle under the musical direction of Sir Donald Runnicles (2016/2017 and 2020/2021). Role debut Rocco/Fidelio (2022/ 2023), Sir Donald Runnicles.
