Julia Mech
Julia Mech has been second alto of the Groot Omroepkoor since 2021. Born in Krakow, she graduated cum laude from the Ignacy Jan Paderewski Academy of Music in Poznan in 2018. Still a university student, Julia Mech made her debut in Verdi's La Traviata at the Poznan Opera House.
During that time she also performed as Principessa in Puccini's one-act Suor Angelica at the Cathedral in Opole and at Poznan's Polski Theatre. She was asked for the role of Golde in the production Fiddler on the Roof at the Poznan Musical Theatre.
For the Poznan Opera House, she performed in such operas as Bizet' s Carmen, Mozart' s Le nozze di Figaro, Verdi' s La Traviata, Gounod's Faust and Moniuszko's The Haunted Manor.
Her concert repertoire includes Dvořák's Requiem, Mozart's Requiem and Coronation Mass, Pergolesi's Stabat Mater and Vivaldi's Gloria. In addition, Julia Mech has been heard in recitals with songs by Brahms, Dvořák, Weill and Schumann. In 2018, she was invited to perform a concert of highlights from the opera repertoire during the Art Festival at the City University of Hong Kong.
