Ingrid van Leeuwen

Ingrid van Leeuwen is second violinist in the Radio Philharmonic Orchestra. She was born in The Hague and received her first music lessons from her father, horn player Henk van Leeuwen. She studied violin at the Royal Conservatoire in The Hague with Qui van Woerdekom, Vaclav Novac and Bouw Lemkes.

Previously, Ingrid played in the Haarlems Jeugdorkest and Juniorenorkest. She further worked with various orchestras in the Netherlands. Ingrid van Leeuwen has been associated with the Radio Philharmonic Orchestra since 1981. She also performs chamber music with various ensembles, including a quartet, a piano quintet, the Mendelssohn Chamber Orchestra and her own salon ensemble. Ingrid spends her free time on music, theatre, museum visits, model drawing and psychology.
