Hans van Loenen

Hans van Loenen received his first trumpet lessons from Matthieu Goossens and Herman Nass. From the age of 8 he played in the local brass band under the direction of his father. Hans studied at the Utrechts Conservatorium with Willem van der Vliet and followed masterclasses with a.o. T. Dokshitzer and Maurice André. He was first trumpet player with the Nationaal Jeugd Orkest before joining the Radio Kamerorkest. With this orchestra he performed regularly as a soloist at home and abroad. Since 1999, Hans has been first trumpeter with the Radio Philharmonic Orchestra. He is also in great demand as a soloist with the Netherlands Brass Ensemble, Combattimento Consort, Amsterdam Bach Soloists and the Hungarian State Orchestra, among others.
