Esther Misbeek

Esther Misbeek has been the clarinetist of the Radio Philharmonic Orchestra since August 2013. Previously she played clarinet and bass clarinet in the Radio Chamber Philharmonic.
Esther was born in Zwolle in 1967. In 1990 she obtained her diploma as teaching musician at the Sweelinck Conservatoire in Amsterdam. Three years later she graduated with distinction as performing musician. In 1995 she received the endorsement for chamber music.
Her teachers were Jan Cober and later George Pieterson. She also studied with Karl Leister in Berlin.

Esther joined the Radio Kamer Orkest, the predecessor of the Radio Kamer Filharmonie, in 1994. She held the positions of second clarinet and deputy first clarinet.
