Brandt Attema

Brandt Attema plays bass trombone and contrabass trombone in the Radio Philharmonic Orchestra. He was born in Leeuwarden in 1978 and studied at the Rotterdam Conservatory.

Here he had lessons from Ben van Dijk. He completed both the first and second phases cum laude.
Brandt has been a bass trombone player with the Radio Philharmonic Orchestra since 1999. He also plays with the Netherlands Wind Ensemble, the Schoenberg Ensemble and the Nieuw Trombone Collectief. He has also made recordings with this last ensemble. In 1999 Brandt was laureate at the International Trombone Competition Guebwiller.
