Annika Pigorsch

Annika Pigorsch (1974) studied double bass at the Musikhochschule in her home town of Hamburg. Her teachers were Prof. Willi Beyer and Ludwig Streicher. Annika played with the Hamburger Symphoniker, Museumsorchester Frankfurt, Deutsche Kammerphilharmonie Bremen and NDR Sinfonieorchester Hamburg. She then joined the Muziekcentrum van de Omroep in 2002.

In addition to her work as double bassist in the Radio Philharmonic Orchestra, she is currently a member of the international Piano Quintet London. In chamber music she has been awarded the Allianz Prize. Annika has participated in the Schleswig Holstein Musik Festival, the Mecklenburg Vorpommern Musik Festival, MDR Musiksommer, Wiener Festwochen, Menuhin Festival Gstaad, Savannah Musik Festival and the Lincoln Center Chamber Music Festival.

Annika Pigorsch was part of the ensemble that performed the semi-scenic production of Stravinsky's l'Histoire du soldat with actor/director Klaus Maria Brandauer and violinist Daniel Hope on various stages in Europe.
