Andrea Battistoni

Andrea Battistoni, from Verona, is an emerging star conductor with an international reputation as one of the foremost of his generation. In 2015, he was appointed first guest conductor of the Tokyo Philharmonic and in October 2016 he became principal conductor there.
He caused a stir in Tokyo with his charisma and sensitive musicality when conducting operas and symphonic repertoire.
Other notable performances in his career include: Teatro alla Scala, Teatro Regio di Torino, Teatro Carlo Felice, La Fenice in Venice, Deutsche Oper Berlin, Stockholm Opera House, Arena di Verona, Bayerische Staatsoper in Munich and world-renowned orchestras such as the Tokyo Philharmonic, Filarmonica della Scala, Accademia di Santa Cecilia, Israel Phil and many others. His future plans include Deutsche Oper Berlin, Arena di Verona, Bayerische Staatsoper in Munich, Teatro Regio in Turin, The National Opera in Amsterdam, Semperoper Dresden, Australia Opera in Sydney as well as debuting at the Royal Opera House Covent Garden in London.
