Alexander van den Tol

Alexander van den Tol is second violinist in the Radio Philharmonic Orchestra. He was born in 1969 in Karwijk and started playing the violin at the age of 9.

He first studied with Joyce Tan and then with Jaring Walta at the Royal Conservatoire in The Hague, where he graduated in 1995. He also followed courses with Herman Krebbers and Ilja Grubert.
As a soloist he performed in Prokofiev's Second Violin Concerto and Max Bruch's Violin Concerto. During his studies Alexander played in the Residentie Orkest. Since 1995 he has been associated with the Radio Philharmonic Orchestra.
