Golden Sound

Maria Warenberg was one of the 2023 laureates of the leaden Queen Elizabeth Competition. The Dutch mezzo-soprano now sings as a soloist with the Opéra National de Paris, and her international star is rising fast. 'A powerful, lyrical and golden sound,' wrote Het Parool about this 'opera star in the making.'

Impossible Love

Romeo and Juliet is perhaps the ultimate love story. Made famous by Shakespeare, the classic about an impossible love is also a source of inspiration for many composers. Prokofiev turned it into a full-length ballet. Even in the various suites he composed afterwards, the equally romantic and tragic story can be followed until the inevitable death of love.
