This concert with the Groot Omroepkoor, the Radio Philharmonic Orchestra and three soloists conducted by Marcus Creed is one big paean to the music itself. Swiss-Dutch composer Frank Martin used a text by his medieval colleague Guillaume de Machaut. Ralph Vaughan Williams wrote a musical salute to conductor Sir Henry Wood. And Georg Friedrich Handel colorfully and exuberantly honored the patron saint of music, Sinte Caecilia.
