Karina Canellakis conducts Bruckner's Symphony No. 6

Programme

  • Anton Bruckner Sixth symphony

A Bruckner full of swagger. Karina Canellakis leads the Radio Philharmonic Orchestra in the dynamic Sixth Symphony.

Bruckner's Sixth

Die Sechste ist die Keckste', Bruckner said about his Sixth Symphony. In Dutch: de zesdede heeft van al zijn symfonieën de meest branie. Bruckner keeps it short for his purposes, and uses a modest instrumentation. Nevertheless, the result is inventive, dynamic and almost theatrical. The sensitive Adagio also guarantees a moment of emotion. It is the first Bruckner symphony that Karina Canellakist performs with her 'own' orchestra.
